Happy New Year from Seal church

As we welcome 2026 we are reminded that the start of a New Year can feel both daunting and hopeful.

As a church we have been living with much uncertainty since our priest retired.  Nevertheless, services and events have continued and the community has remained united and positive.  We can happily report that we are now advertising for a new priest.  So please do keep looking at our website for updates on progress.  We take this opportunity to thank those who have or will be considering whether they are called to take up this post.

We do have a lot to be thankful about.  To every person who gives their time, energy, and heart to serve our church—whether in worship, outreach, administration, or simply offering a helping hand—you are the backbone of our community. Your commitment ensures that our doors remain open, our ministries flourish, and our message of love and faith continues to reach those who need it most. Words cannot fully capture our gratitude for all that you do.

We know that the world situation is an uneasy one.  We can so often feel that we can do nothing to further world peace but the words of a Celtic prayer remind us that there can be no peace in the world unless there is peace in our hearts, peace in our homes and peace between neighbours – this peace we can all nurture and grow.

May we all take the light and hope of Jesus’ birth not just at Christmas but for life.  Let us serve one another with generosity, compassion, and joy. May 2026 bring renewed strength, abundant hope, and the reassurance that, together, guided by God’s love, there is nothing we cannot achieve.

Please do join us – we look forward to welcoming you in 2026 and walking this year alongside you.

With deep gratitude and every blessing
